Tackling Bullying & Prejudice Behaviour

Our ethos is rooted in Gospel values and ‘Love of God, Love of neighbour’. Our Christian values are central to everything that we do at SFX with each week having a theme of the week where children reflect on how our Christian values can teach them to be respectful, kind and tolerant towards one another.

Our anti-bullying procedures shows how we tackle bullying in school both in terms of teaching pupils about respect towards one another and how we respond to any bullying incidents that happen. In each student planner we have information regarding what constitutes bullying the schools anti-bullying procedures for reporting this form of child-on-child abuse. Students are asked to speak to an adult or our peer mentors in school if either they are the victim of any bullying or unkind behaviour or if they witness this. We also have an Equality Group within school which has been set up to raise awareness of any racism, prejudice or discrimination in school. There is a poster about this in each classroom.

Reporting bullying or prejudice

If children would like to report any bullying or prejudice behaviour anonymously then they can do so using this link below.

  • We spend time with and look out for our younger students
  • We raise awareness during anti-bullying week
  • We fundraise for Anti-Bullying Alliance
  • We offer support to anyone who experiences any unkind behaviours
  • We ensure students know how to report unkind behaviours

✨ Year 7 Retreat: Looking back, walking forwards ✝️

This time last week our fabulous year 7 spent the day on retreat reflecting on their first year here at SFX and looking forward to what next year may bring.

Whilst exploring Easby Abbey and St Agatha’s church students explored the theme “Looking back, walking forward”, reflecting how things can change over time, including ourselves.

Through games, activities, discussion, prayer and reflection, students considered what has changed in themselves this year and what further changes we wish to see in ourselves and each other as we grow together.

The day concluded with a wonderful Eucharist led by Rev Simon and then the obligatory visit for ice cream!

We are incredibly proud of all our Year 7 students for the enthusiasm, openness and maturity they showed throughout the retreat and their first year at SFX. They represented the school brilliantly and fully embraced every part of the experience. ✨
