Uniform expectations

We would like to remind all parents about the need for constant vigilance and co-operation in helping us to maintain the highest standard of appearance of the uniform.

If a child’s uniform is not worn properly then parents can expect a phone call home with a short period to rectify it.  Failure to do so could result in sanctions being applied that may include isolation and/or, in extreme circumstances, being sent home.

Any pupil unable to wear the correct shoes due to medical issues will need a note from their doctor specifying the reasons.  The Pastoral Department has a supply of spare uniform, including shoes, which children can wear on a temporary basis.

In all cases, school reserves the right to determine what is and is not acceptable in terms of uniform.

✨ Year 7 Retreat: Looking back, walking forwards ✝️

This time last week our fabulous year 7 spent the day on retreat reflecting on their first year here at SFX and looking forward to what next year may bring.

Whilst exploring Easby Abbey and St Agatha’s church students explored the theme “Looking back, walking forward”, reflecting how things can change over time, including ourselves.

Through games, activities, discussion, prayer and reflection, students considered what has changed in themselves this year and what further changes we wish to see in ourselves and each other as we grow together.

The day concluded with a wonderful Eucharist led by Rev Simon and then the obligatory visit for ice cream!

We are incredibly proud of all our Year 7 students for the enthusiasm, openness and maturity they showed throughout the retreat and their first year at SFX. They represented the school brilliantly and fully embraced every part of the experience. ✨
